The well documented debacle that was the much anticipated launch of Heathrow’s flagship Terminal 5 was the cause for much sniggering among the executives of rival airlines.  Many within industry cringed at the very public failure of the nation’s flagship airline and airport operator.

Indeed it was a most impressive fiasco even by BA's usual high standards of managerial misfortune.  As the dust settles and the final pieces of luggage are reunited with their owners, BA First Officer Willie Walsh is clinging tightly to the controls while two of his cabin crew have parachuted out.
